Dr. William Martin
Central Vet Family Member since January 1981.
Dr. William “Bill” Martin was raised in Hendersonville, TN. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1978 with a B.S. in Animal Science. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He worked as a veterinary assistant at Central Veterinary Hospital before becoming a veterinarian. He loves his job and has a life long commitment to veterinary medicine. He enjoys building long lasting relationships with his patients and clients. In his spare time he enjoys bicycle riding, swimming, and working out at the Rush. He has one cat, Tabitha, at the moment, but has a soft spot for Corgis.
Dr. Benny Ferrell
Central Vet Family Member since July 1995.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Ferrell attended the University of Memphis before moving to Knoxville where he graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1981. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Ferrell practiced small animal medicine from 1984 until he came to Central Veterinary Hospital in 1995. In addition to general veterinary care, Dr. Ferrell is also a skilled surgeon and trained in ultrasound examination and evaluation techniques. Dr. Ferrell loves connecting with his patients. In his spare time he enjoys gardening and the outdoors. He enjoys spending time with his family; his wife Patty, his daughter Emily and son Ben.
Dr. Jamie Clanin
Central Vet Family Member since August 2011.
Dr. Jamie Clanin was born in California and later raised in Washington, D.C. She received a BS in Animal Veterinary Sciences from Clemson University in 2004. She then moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2008. Dr. Clanin came to Central Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 2011 after practicing small animal medicine in the Knoxville area. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her young son. She loves practicing in this area and meeting all kinds of creatures, especially German Shepherds. Dr. Clanin is thrilled to be a part of the Central Vet team!
Dr. Wesley Keele
Central Vet Family Member since June 2012.
Dr. Wesley Keele grew up on a dairy farm in Manchester, TN. He moved to Knoxville in 2004 to attend the University of Tennessee. Dr. Keele started working at Central Vet in June of 2012. So far he has really enjoyed establishing his own client and patient base with the hospital. He has been happily married since April of 2012 to his wife Margaret, who is a physical therapist with Covenant Health. Margaret gave birth to their twins, Ellie and Jackson, in January of 2016. They also have four little “fur” kids as well, Izzy, Max, Mouse and Wally.
Dr. Dustin Patterson
Central Vet Family Member since June 2015 .
Born in West Tennessee, Dr. Patterson attended the University of Tennessee at Martin where he graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Animal Science. He then graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Dr. Patterson practiced at a mixed animal practice in Dickson, TN for five years before coming to Central in 2015. Dr. Patterson enjoys UT sports, being out on area lakes, and all the wonderful outdoor activities East Tennessee has to offer. He now resides in Powell, TN with his wife, Rachel and his two children; his daughter, Lila and their cat, Crosby.
Madeleine Womble – Hospital Manager
Central Vet Family Member since January 1999.
Madeleine was born in Quebec, Canada and moved to the United States in 1981. She worked in home healthcare for several years before coming to Central Veterinary Hospital in January of 1999. Madeleine has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 25years and is the proud mother of three children, Jessica, Ian and Sierra. She is also the proud grandmother of three, Keira, Dagon, and Caspian. They currently have two dogs, Waffle (pictured), who was adopted from our clinic and Bandite, a Jack Russell puppy. She spends her free time enjoying the shared interests of her family including the outdoors, sports, music, art and church.
Kelly – Client Relation Specialist Supervisor
Central Vet Family Member since August 2008.
Kelly was born in Burlington, Vermont. She moved to Polk County, Tennessee in 1993, and to Knoxville in 2003 to attend the University of Tennessee. She had a variety of different jobs before settling in at Central. Kelly loves working with the clients and patients at Central. She currently lives in North Knoxville with her husband, Buster and his daughter, Kaylee. They have four furry kids: Nuke and Loretta the dogs, and Waylon and Willie the cats. In her spare time she loves the outdoors, music (her husband manages a country band), cooking, spending quality time with family and friends, and living life to the fullest.
Jessi – Client Relations Specialist
Central Vet Family Member since October 2004 .
Jessi is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She started working at Central Vet while attending classes at Pellissippi, and considers this her second family. She loves the patients and clients at Central Vet, and couldn’t imagine a job where she didn’t work with animals. She has several rescued “furry kids” and enjoys spending time with all of them. She also enjoys spending time with the “kids” and boyfriend; hiking, fishing, camping, going to the park, gardening, and pet sitting.
Heather – Client Relations Specialist
Central Vet Family Member since April 2008.
Heather is originally from Louisiana and moved to Sevierville, TN when she was in elementary school. Heather lives in Knoxville with her daughter Arley and their cat, Ariel Kitty. In her free times she enjoys football (especially UT and the Saints), working out, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Brian – Client Relations Specialist
Central Vet Family Member since August 2016 .
Brian was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where he enjoyed hiking, biking, swimming, backpacking, spelunking, theatre and martial arts. He’s been in Tennessee for about seven years now, but still considers himself an Oregonian. He met his wife here and they bought their first home. He’s had about every kind of pet permitted by law at one point or another, but prefers dogs and ferrets. At the moment he and his wife have two sweet gray fancy rats. In his free times he likes reading and making custom steampunk costume pieces.
Jessica – Client Relations Specialist

Jessica is originally from Asheville, NC. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. She has been a lifelong member of the theater world both on stage and back stage. She loves reading, painting, and frogs.
Victoria- Client Relations Specialist

Victoria is originally from Newport News, Virginia. She is a 2016 graduate from Christopher Newport University with a BA in Communication Studies and Psychology, but her passion is with animal care. She is never without her mini dachshund, Bambi.
Jonathan – Vet Assistant Supervisor
Central Veterinary Hospital family member since July 2012 .
Jonathan was born in Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Tennessee when he was young. He played baseball until his Sophomore year in college. In his free time he enjoys playing sports and other outdoor activities such as snowboarding, softball, and flag football among many. He lives with his fiance, Jennifer, and their three crazy pups, Lily, Remi, and Niko. They love going to the dog park as often as possible and making new friends.
Mason – LVMT
Central Vet Family Member since July 2015 .
Mason is from Athens, TN. She graduated as a LVMT from Chattanooga State Community College. Mason is a self proclaimed “crazy cat lady” and has two cats of her own, Leaf and Kira. She also has a rambunctious Corgi named Kermit. Mason’s favorite things are vinyl records, concerts, video games, and tacos.
Mercedes – Veterinary Assistant

Mercedes was originally born in St. Petersburg, Florida. She started out working as an after school volunteer in 2009 and was officially hired in November 2010. She has attended Pellissippi State Technical Community College. She loves working with animals, and has spent time at an animal sanctuary in Costa Rica. She has three cats, Cappuccino, Maple, and Milo. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching t.v., and being with family.
Irene – Veterinary Assistant

Irene was raised in Northern Illinois, and moved to Tennessee in 2007 to attend college. From the time she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to work with animals. She came to CVH while working on her Bachelor’s Degree from UT, and is currently taking classes to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Justin, and her furry kids. She has three dogs (Lily, Kirra, and Sprocket) and three cats (Tigger, Fluffer-Nutter, and Gambit).
Heather – Veterinary Assistant
Heather is originally from Detroit, Michigan. She currently lives in Knoxville, TN. She enjoys spending her free time with her furry kids at the park. She has two dogs, Crowley and Chewy, and three cats Smokey, Rusty, and Sammy.
Brooke – Veterinary Assistant
Central Vet Family Member since August 2013.
Brooke is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She has been coming to Central Vet as a client since she was a little girl. Before starting at Central, Brooke volunteered and worked at Young Williams Animal Center for around two years. Working with and rescuing animals is what she enjoys most in life. At home Brooke enjoys spending time with her “herd” of Dachshunds and three rescued Chihuahua mixes.
Rebecca – Veterinary Assistant

Becca grew up in Cottage Grove, TN (just outside of Paris, TN). She moved to Knoxville with her (now) husband, David, in 2011. She graduated from UTK in May 2015 with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She has had pets from all walks of life; furry, feathered, and scaly. She can’t have pets of her own due to a leasing situation, but lives vicariously through all her friends and their pets. Her husband is busy studing for his PhD in Math, but when they get time together they love playing video games.
Nick – Veterinary Assistant

Nick is originally from Dalton, GA. After earning a BS in Animal Science from Berry College in 2015, he moved to Knoxville. Nick lives with his two cats, D.J. and Jazzy.
Ambriell – Veterinary Assistant
Central Vet Family Member since July 2016.
Ambriell is originally from Texas, but grew up in Clarksville, TN. She moved to Knoxville to attend UTK where she graduated in 2016. She has three pets who she loves dearly; a dog named Apollo, a cat named Oliver, and a ferret named Stuie. In her free time she enjoys sketching, cooking, working out, reading, and trying new things.
Lauren – Veterinary Assistant

Lauren was born and raised in Rogers, Arkansas. She attended a small private college in Arkansas and graduated with a B.A. in Biology. This is where she met her husband, Danny. They moved to Knoxville in July 2012 and love living here. They have one little “fur baby”, Nugget, the dog. They are expecting their first child later this year. Her ambitions include attending UTCVM and becoming a veterinarian!
